My first experiments with my first dSLR ever Nikon d90 16.05.

After lots of considerations I finally bought my first ever dSLR! Yoohoo! I chose Nikon d90 over canon 40d and so far I think I made a very good decision.

I have never had any camera before (the only camera was my cellphone)  and I couldn’t contact my friend photographer to instruct me on how to use this piece of equipment (nikon d90).   The worst thing was that somehow they included Latvian Nikon d90 manual, which is absolutely useless for me. Moreover, I bought only a body and attached all kind of old fix lenses with m42 converter, so I have to work in a Manual mode.

Nevertheless, Nikon d90 was so intuitive for me and it took only about a week to figure out how to make +- decent photos. Of course, I don’t know lots of things and there is a long road of learning ahead but I already made some nice photos. Here they are:

My water-tap and a drop

Quite lucky on this one, it took about 6 photos to catch it with completely manual settings and very old optics.

Double water crown from the same water tap

This one edited in Photoshop to look more spectacular.

A tree near my house

This one is my first test of HDR, this mean there were actually 3 photos with 3 different expositions joined together in Photoshop.

P.S.: I used my fathers old Zenit camera’s lens (2/58) – I guess its 58mm 2f

P.S.2.: I will also use an opportunity to make some advertisement… You can buy this great peace of equipement on Amazon: buy Nikon d90
